Manspreading (2019)
Artist's book by Rafael MC

In my research, I noticed that manspreading is a new word that was just included in the Oxford dictionaries in 2015 ‘The practice whereby a man, especially one travelling on public transport, adopts a sitting position with his legs wide apart, in such a way as to encroach on an adjacent seat or seats.’ and as a consequence, there are not many sources in archives and collections in the UK yet. So, for this reason I have been reading articles and journals like ‘The Guardian’ who are using this concept to start a discussion.
